I was drawn to the rabbinate through engaging with young adult (post-college pre-family) Jews in Ann Arbor, Michigan. While working as a reporter, I co-founded “Jewish Young Professionals,” an organization that grew to include near-weekly programming including social, religious, educational, and volunteer opportunities.
For me, engagement is first and foremost about using deep listening and storytelling to form real connections. During my time as a journalist and Uber driver I loved that both jobs required connecting with people of all ages and backgrounds. I look forward to continue building these connections throughout my rabbinic career.
